The Federal Agency for Nationalities announces the start of the All-Russian educational campaign “Great Ethnographic Dictation”. From November 1 to November 8, 2024, residents of Russia and foreign countries who speak Russian, English or Spanish will be able to assess their knowledge of the history, culture and traditions of the peoples living in the Russian Federation.

The event is held for the ninth time and attracts more and more participants. In 2023, 3,455,148 people from 89 regions of the Russian Federation and 228 foreign countries tested their level of ethnographic literacy.

Online participants will be able to answer the questions on the official website www.miretno.ru  by selecting the tab ‘Take the Dictation’.

The Dictation tasks consist of 20 federal questions for participants up to 16 years old and 30 questions for participants over 16 years old, including 20 questions of the federal part and 10 unique for each subject of Russia, and for foreign venues – about places associated with Russia outside the Russian Federation.

For the first time, everyone interested will be able to take part in the creation of the questions. For this purpose, a “Suggest a question” tab has been added to the official website www.miretno.ru. The most interesting and original questions will be included in the federal part of the Dictation, and the authors will receive memorable prizes with the campaign’s symbols.

The total sum of points for the Dictation is 100, the maximum time for completing the tasks is 45 minutes.

The online participant certificate with the results will be available immediately after passing the Dictation in electronic format. The participant certificate of the offline format is issued at the discretion of the organizer of the venue.

Correct answers to the Dictation tasks will be published on the Dictation website until November 13, 2024.
