Dear friends!

We invite children aged 6 to 18 to take part in the children’s art exhibition “New Year’s Fairy Tale in the Russian House”.

The themes for the works are literary works (fairy tales, stories, poems, etc.) dedicated to winter and New Year’s holidays (Orthodox and Catholic Christmas, Svyatki/Yuletide, New Year, Epiphany), by Russian and foreign authors, as well as folk tales: “Morozko,” “The Snow Maiden,” “The Twelve Months,” “The Snow Queen,” “The Nutcracker,” “The Wolf and the Fox,” “The Night Before Christmas,” and others.

The opening (vernissage) will take place on December 6, 2025. The closing of the exhibition is on January 17, 2026.

The selection of works for inclusion in the exhibition’s exposition will be made until November 20, 2025.

Conditions for Selection and Requirements for Works:

  1. The themes of the works are chosen independently by the participants and agreed upon with the exhibition organizers.
  2. The following works are accepted:
    • Drawings in various techniques (oil, acrylic, watercolor, gouache, pencil, ink, pastels, etc.). The desired drawing format is A3 (297 x 420 mm), the minimum size is 300 x 300 mm. Drawings must be sufficiently bright, expressive, look good from a distance, and be framed (frames are purchased by the participants themselves).
    • Handicrafts/Crafts made of any materials, with a maximum size of 400 mm on any one side.
  3. All works must be completed by the children completely or to the maximum extent independently. Assistance in creating the works is welcome, but its result should not make up the major part of the work.
  4. Each author must submit photographs of no more than 3 works by the specified deadline (November 20, 2025). Based on the selection results, the organizers will include one work per participant in the exhibition’s exposition.
  5. Along with the photographs of the works, participants must submit the following information:
    • Child’s name and surname – author of the works,
    • Child’s age,
    • Title of the work,
    • Title and author of the literary work that inspired the piece,
    • Place of creation,
    • Year of creation,
    • Technique, materials (canvas, paper, cardboard, oil, watercolor, gouache, pencil, pastels, markers, etc.),
    • Size in cm (vertical side size should be indicated first),
    • Photographs of the finished works. If the works are not yet complete by the selection date, a brief description (plot, technique, expected size, etc.) must be provided,
    • A contact phone number for one of the parents in case of questions about the works.
  6. All information indicated in paragraph 5 must be sent to the email address ok-sunny@inbox.ru with the subject line “Children’s Exhibition” (“Детская выставка”).
  7. After selection, the organizers will notify participants of the work approved for the exhibition (in case multiple works were submitted).
  8. For the approved work, authors must send the following information in Russian and English to the email address ok-sunny@inbox.ru for placement in the exhibition hall:
    • A brief biography of the child – the author of the work, including their relation to creativity (amateur, professional, undergoing training, etc.),
    • An explanation for the choice of subject (e.g., memories, favorite cartoon, beloved character and their qualities, etc.),
    • A photograph of the child or a portrait (self-portrait) executed in any technique.
  9. Participation in the exhibition signifies the consent of the children and their parents and/or legal representatives to the processing and use of the personal data specified in paragraphs 5 and 8 of these conditions of selection and requirements for works, exclusively within the framework of this exhibition.
  10. Finished works must be submitted by December 1, 2025. The time of submission must be arranged in advance with the exhibition organizers via email or phone.
  11. Authors must collect their works within two weeks after the exhibition closes (up to and including January 31, 2026). The time for collecting the works must be arranged in advance with the exhibition organizers via email or phone.
