To mark the Day of National Unity, the Cinema Club of the Russian House in Brussels presents the film adaptation of A. S. Pushkin’s historical tragedy “Boris Godunov”. This was the final film directed by the great Russian filmmaker Sergei Bondarchuk, released during his lifetime.

The story takes place at the end of the 16th century, on the eve of the Time of Troubles. The main character of this historical tragedy is the Russian Tsar Boris Godunov, who ascended the throne after Ivan the Terrible, following the tragic deaths of Ivan’s elder son Fyodor and the young Tsarevich Dmitry.
