The Cinema Club of the Russian House in Brussels is pleased to present documentary films by the The Russian Geographical Society (RGS) .

The Russian Geographical Society (RGS) is one of Russia’s oldest public organizations, founded in 1845. Its main mission is to explore Russia, preserve its natural heritage, and promote geographical knowledge. Today, the RGS carries out large-scale scientific, educational, and expedition projects, supports research, contributes to environmental protection and the preservation of historical and cultural heritage, and produces documentary films introducing audiences to Russia’s unique landscapes, diverse peoples, and outstanding explorers.

This documentary by the Russian Geographical Society is dedicated to one of the most ambitious and challenging scientific and exploration projects of modern times. The film introduces viewers to the harsh yet majestic world of the sixth continent, where extreme natural conditions put human endurance to the test and every expedition requires thorough preparation, courage, and strong teamwork. At the heart of the story is a unique expedition following a route that connects three remarkable poles: the Geographic South Pole, the Pole of Cold, and the Pole of Inaccessibility.
