The Film Club of the Russian House in Brussels is pleased to present documentary films by the Russian Geographical Society (RGS).

The Russian Geographical Society (RGS) is one of Russia’s oldest public organizations, founded in 1845. Its main mission is to explore Russia, preserve its natural heritage, and promote geographical knowledge. Today, the RGS carries out large-scale scientific, educational, and expedition projects, supports research, contributes to environmental protection and the preservation of historical and cultural heritage, and produces documentary films introducing audiences to Russia’s unique landscapes, diverse peoples, and outstanding explorers.

This documentary film, produced with the support of the Russian Geographical Society, invites viewers on a journey through one of Russia’s most mysterious and distinctive regions. The film follows two travelers from different cultures and opposite ends of the world as they explore the unique land of Tuva. Along the way, they encounter nomadic reindeer herders and shepherds, visit Buddhist sacred sites, and discover a remote Old Believers’ village hidden deep in the taiga. Their route leads them across picturesque steppes, mountain passes, and vast open landscapes, revealing the extraordinary diversity and beauty of this remarkable region.
