Dear friends,

The Russian House Film Club in Brussels invites you to the premiere screening of a unique feature-length animated film based on Alexander Pushkin’s novel and Pyotr Tchaikovsky’s opera.

This is more than just a screen adaptation of a classic — it is a visual journey through layers of literature, music, and animation, where familiar characters take on new forms. The film combines live-action performance with multiple animation techniques, creating a dreamlike space between reality and imagination.

The film was created using frame-by-frame painting on glass with light glazing techniques. Its world premiere took place at the 2025 Moscow International Film Festival. The project took three years to complete due to the complexity of the hybrid animation-live action approach.
