
Svetlana Nikolaevna Kryuchkova, People’s Artist of the RSFSR, was born on June 22, 1950, in Chișinău. After several years working in various positions, including as a metalworker at the ZIL factory, she entered the Moscow Art Theatre School-Studio and graduated in 1973. After graduation, she joined the troupe of the Moscow Art Theatre. In 1975, she moved to Leningrad and became an actress of the Leningrad Bolshoi Drama Theatre, where she continues to serve to this day. She made her film debut in 1973 and has appeared in more than ninety films. She is also active in performing poetry programs in philharmonic halls and concert venues. She has repeatedly performed with great success at the Russian House in Brussels. Since 2014, she has served as president of the film festival “Vivat Cinema of Russia!”
