The film takes us back to the harrowing years of the Great Patriotic War. In the midst of intense battles, a new squadron of young female pilots arrives at a mixed air regiment. Still unaware of the true horrors of war, these women soon prove in brutal dogfights that their courage, skill, and resilience are equal to those of their male comrades.
This is a story of bravery, friendship, and the unyielding will to win.

For three years, the filmmakers shot across various parts of Russia, using real aircraft and specially designed cameras for aerial battles. A unique system was developed to simulate real G-forces in pilot cockpits, and historical airfields and the ruins of Stalingrad were authentically recreated.
