Dear friends, this time we invite you to a masterclass, where Anna Burkovskaya will guide you in creating a painting “Red Carnation – The Flower of Victory.”
In Russia, red carnations are considered a symbol of memory and respect for the soldiers who fought for their homeland.
This flower was chosen for a reason. In ancient Rome, carnations were seen as symbols of victory, and their origin was linked to the name of Artemis, the goddess of hunting. Later, during World War I, wives gave carnations to their husbands before they went to the front.
In Russia, red carnations symbolize remembrance and respect for the soldiers who defended the homeland. The tradition of giving them arose after the Great Patriotic War, when they became a symbol of the blood shed and the strength of the Red Army. These flowers are laid at memorials and monuments. Thus, red carnations have become an important sign of memory and respect for those who gave their lives for freedom and peace.
The age of participants is from 12 to 99 years old.
