260th Anniversary of the State Hermitage Museum (St. Petersburg)
On December 18, the Russian House in Brussels invites you to the opening of the exhibition of our compatriots “Christmas Kaleidoscope. Dedicated to the 260th Anniversary of the State Hermitage Museum,” continuing the series of exhibitions “Art Kaleidoscope.”
The exhibition is timed to the anniversary of the State Hermitage Museum. The world-renowned museum celebrated its 260th anniversary on December 7. This date coincides with the Feast Day of Saint Catherine, chosen to honor the Great Empress Catherine II, who in 1764 began the acquisition of art pieces for the Winter Palace.
The exhibition will also feature works themed around New Year, winter, and Christmas. The beauty of the Russian North’s nature, the majestic mountains of Armenia and Kyrgyzstan, the boundless fields of the homeland, the vanishing charm of Russian provinces, as well as unique artworks made of artistic glass, original paintings, embroidery, patchwork, and felt creations—all reflect the unique perspectives and talents of our remarkable participants from Russia, Armenia, Belarus, Belgium, and Kyrgyzstan.
Their landscapes, portraits, still lifes, genre, and abstract paintings, created with great skill and creative inspiration, displayed in the halls of the Russian House, will amaze and delight you with their diversity of themes, ideas, and styles.
We invite you to immerse yourself in the festive atmosphere of art created by the multifaceted imagination of our talented participants!
