On April 28, the exhibition “Portraits of the Epoch” will open at the Russian House in Brussels.
The project shows people who are about a hundred, a hundred or more years old. Living witnesses of history: WWII veterans, home front workers, children of the regiment, children of the war.
The oldest participant of the project is 107 years old.
In old age, people remember mostly the most vivid and significant events from their lives. They remember what was important, expensive, or painful.
These centenarian people talk about war and peace, friendship, happiness, love, sing songs, read poetry, and give parting words to future generations. They are the bearer of the cultural code of the nation.
And the next generation stands behind them.
This is their “letter” to the future and their chronicle of the world.
The exhibition will be open until May 12.
