Born in Brussels on 30 April 2014 to a Russian-Irish family, twelve-year-old pianist Alexandra Long has already established herself as one of the most promising young musical talents of her generation.

In 2024, at the age of ten, she was admitted to the Royal Conservatory of Brussels to study with Professor Viktor Shestopal, becoming the youngest student ever admitted to this prestigious institution.

Alexandra is a prizewinner of several international piano competitions, including EPTA Belgium, the Steinway Piano Competition, MozArte and Cantabile. She is also a regular participant in the renowned Belgian festival Musicorum, where she performs alongside outstanding young musicians and distinguished concert artists.

For Alexandra, music is far more than technical mastery. It is a language through which she shares emotions, ideas and personal stories with her audience. Every performance becomes an intimate dialogue, inviting listeners into her artistic world.

Alongside her passion for music, Alexandra has a deep love of poetry. She describes music as “the poetry of sound”—an art capable of expressing what words alone cannot.

The programme brings together works by Edvard Grieg, Alexander Borodin, Alexander Scriabin, and other great composers. Poetry will gently accompany the musical journey, enriching the evening and opening new perspectives on the emotions and imagery woven into these timeless masterpieces.
