Dear kids, did you know that your moms and dads grew up watching the animated film The Flying Ship? It became so iconic that people still quote it today, and school theaters often staged plays inspired by it.
This beloved classic couldn’t go unnoticed. And so, in 2024, director Ilya Uchitel took on an ambitious project: to turn the cartoon into a full-length feature film.
The Flying Ship is a magical musical fairy tale where love and courage overcome all obstacles.
The tsar plans to marry off his daughter Zabava to the son of a wealthy nobleman, Polkan, who generously finances the palace renovation. But the princess longs for true love, not a marriage of convenience, and does everything she can to stop the arranged wedding. Fate brings her together with a sailor named Ivan, and their hearts quickly connect.
In the name of love, Ivan ventures into an enchanted forest in search of gold, but inspired by a dream, he decides instead to build a flying ship and escape the kingdom with Zabava.

The Flying Ship raises its sails and sets off on a journey to the viewer’s heart!
