2024 – The Year of the Family

The Russian House in Brussels invites you to participate in a festive evening dedicated to Family, Love, and Fidelity Day, which will take place on July 11.

This significant day in Russia is celebrated on July 8 and coincides with the Day of Remembrance of Saints Peter and Fevronia, who are considered the patrons of family and marriage.

The program of the festive concert will feature performances by young talented soloists, laureates of international competitions, and students of the Royal Conservatory: saxophonist Louis Mariol (Belgium) and pianist Diana Kokaeva (Russia). The audience will enjoy works by both Russian and foreign composers, including C. Debussy, M. Ravel, S. Rachmaninoff, A. Griboyedov, A. Glazunov, A. Kapl, and others.

Louis Mariaule

Louis Mariaule est un saxophoniste belge originaire de Tournai. Il commence le saxophone à9 ans au Conservatoire de Tournai avec Marc Host puis intègre le Conservatoire Royal de Mons en tant que jeune talent avec Giovanni Vero comme professeur.Il continue ensuite ses études au Conservatoire Royal de Bruxelles,oùil vient d’obtenir son master avec distinction, il y a étudié avec Vincent David, Nicolas Arsenijevic, Pieter Pellens et Asagi Ito. Durant ces études, il a pu participer àde nombreuses masterclasses notamment avec Asya Fateyeva, Kenneth Tse, Arno Bornkamp, Eva Van Grissen, Michael Krenn.Il s’est produit au Festival Musiq3 en 2022, au World Sax Congress de Gran Canaria en 2023 et a participéau concours Andorra Sax Fest en 2024. Il enseigne le saxophone àl’école de musique d’Estaimpuis et va commencer un master didactique au Conservatoire de Bruxelles cette année.

Diana Kokaeva

Pianist Diana Kokaeva was born in Russia in the city of Vladikavkaz, Republic of North Ossetia Alania, in the family of composer Boris Kokaev. From a young age, Diana showed an interest in the piano, at the age of 10 she already performed a piano concerto with an orchestra. She studied at the Lyceum School of Arts, then at the Vladikavkaz College of Arts named after Gergiev, after which she moved to Moscow and entered the Moscow State Conservatory named after P. Tchaikovsky in the department piano, studied in the class of Professor N. Roshchina and Associate Professor Y. Didenko. During her studies, she took part in various concerts, cool evenings in the halls of the Moscow Conservatory, took part in master classes and competitions such as the 7th International Viva-Music Competition (Russia), winner of the 2nd prize. Abu Dhabi Piano Competition (United Arab Emirates) 3rd prize, Alion Baltic International Music Competition (Estonia) 3rd prize. After graduating from the Moscow Conservatory, she graduated from the Master of Piano at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels in the class of I. Schmidt. Gives concerts in various venues in the city of Belgium. Plays in various solo compositions, chamber ensemble, performs music of various genres, classical and modern music.

Thomas Griessmann

Thomas Griessmann – clarinetist from France. It was in parallel with his engineering studies that Thomas obtained the prize at the Strasbourg Conservatory in the class of Jean-Marc Foltz, where he became passionate about the contemporary repertoire. He has since continued his studies at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels with Jean-Marc Fessard and Ronald van Spaendonck. In 2018, he won 3rd prize in the Remiremont international chamber music competition. From 2019, he specializes in practicing on historical instruments in Vincenzo Casale’s new class. He performs sporadically with the orchestras Les Siècles and Le Cercle de l’Harmonie.

Before the concert, there will be a solemn ceremony awarding family couples with commemorative medals “For Love and Fidelity” in honor of their long and strong life together, based on love and fidelity, as well as for the worthy upbringing of their children.

At the ceremonial evening, the vernissage of the photo exhibition “Peoples of Siberia: Between Past and Future” will take place, organized by the editorial office of the journal “Irkutsk Photographic Review IFO-FOTO” and the Irkutsk regional branch of the Russian Geographical Society.
