The Russian House in Brussels invites you to the Historical Club lecture series, dedicated to the history of Belgium and its emergence as an independent state.
Language of the event: Russian.
At the second meeting on March 4, we will continue the story of the establishment of the Kingdom of Belgium, examining how the country became one of the first industrialised countries in continental Europe. We will look at how it strengthened its global position through its domestic infrastructure development. The railways connected industrial centres, coal mines, steel factories and major ports such as Antwerp, supporting domestic economic growth and enhancing Belgium’s position as a key transit hub between neighbouring European powers.
The lecture will be delivered by the renowned historian Professor Vladimir Ronin. His deep knowledge and engaging style make each Historical Club meeting a unique experience for everyone interested in the history of Russia and Belgium.
We welcome all who wish to gain a deeper understanding of the historical roots of modern Belgium, its political and cultural transformations, and the atmosphere of the era that shaped the country as we know it today.
