Dear friends,
Our December salon is dedicated to the work of the remarkable Soviet Kyrgyz writer Chingiz Aitmatov. His works, filled with mythological and epic motifs, address profound philosophical questions and reveal the cultural roots of the people. His books include legends, parables, and symbols of nature that reflect humanity’s connection to the surrounding world. Readers journey alongside his characters, experiencing their pain, fears, reflections, debates, and decisions.
Did you know that starting in 1990, Chingiz Aitmatov led the Soviet embassy (and, from 1992, the Russian embassy) in Luxembourg? From 1994 to 2006, he served as Kyrgyzstan’s ambassador to the Benelux countries—Belgium, Luxembourg, and the Netherlands—as well as to France, NATO, and UNESCO.
If you appreciate Chingiz Aitmatov’s work, want to discover something new in his books, share your opinions, or simply listen to others, join our literary salon.
Event language: Russian.
