Dear friends! Maslenitsa is approaching – one of the most beloved folk holidays.
During Maslenitsa week, you can eat as many pancakes as you like, and no one will say a word.
Did you know that on Maslenitsa, people not only made pancakes but also decorated their homes and yards in bright and festive ways?
For home decorations, natural materials like straw wreaths, birch branches, and dried flowers were used. In courtyards, they created Maslenitsa corners with snow figures and straw benches.
The hostesses prepared for the holiday thoroughly: they embroidered tablecloths and towels, made colorful patchwork quilts, pillowcases, rugs, and wall hangings.
By popular demand, we are hosting a masterclass led by our craftswoman Natalia Maraeva. She will teach you how to create bright patchwork items, which you can use to decorate your home not only for Maslenitsa but any day of the year.
Please bring:

  • Fabric scissors
  • Needles for hand sewing
  • A base on which to create your masterpiece (canvas, pillowcase, woven napkin, etc.)
  • If you have any unused fabric scraps (preferably cotton, such as an old shirt), bring them along. The scraps should be prepared for work – clean and pressed. If you don’t have any, we will provide them.

A good mood and a desire to create.
The language of the event is Russian.
