On 18 November 2025, at the Russian House in Brussels, we will continue our journey through the Flemish city of the 17th century together with experts from the Hermitage! Following the success of the previous tour of the exhibition “ARS VIVENDI. Frans Snyders and the Flemish Still Life of the 17th Century,” the Hermitage has prepared a special second part for the Belgian audience.

Language: Russian/French

On 18 November you will meet again with Vladislav Statkevich, who will talk about large-format still lifes and animalistic works by Frans Snyders, Abraham Brueghel, Abraham van Diepenbeeck, and Peter Boel. You will learn how and why such grandiose works were created and what they reveal about the Flemish “art of living.”

Afterwards, guests will have an exclusive chance to “visit” the restoration laboratory of the State Hermitage Museum and hear first-hand how the preparation of these enormous paintings for the exhibition was carried out. Specialists in the restoration of easel painting will share the details.

As last time, Mikhail Dedinkin, Head of the Department of Western European Fine Arts of the Hermitage and curator of the exhibition, will join online to answer all questions from the audience.
