On 12 February, the Russian House in Brussels, with the participation of the World Ocean Museum and the “5 Oceans” Club, will host an online conference dedicated to the life and legacy of the outstanding explorer, oceanographer, and filmmaker Jacques-Yves Cousteau.
As part of the event, the exhibition “Captain Cousteau in Russia” will be presented, revealing little-known pages of the legendary researcher’s biography and scientific work, as well as his contribution to the study of the World Ocean.
Conference participants will hear vivid memories, stories, and reflections from friends, colleagues, associates, and followers of J.-Y. Cousteau about his life journey, scientific discoveries, and boundless love for the sea.
Special Guests:

Francine Cousteau
French public figure, widow of Jacques-Yves Cousteau, and leader of the Cousteau Society and the Cousteau Team. She plays a key role in preserving and developing the legacy of the great explorer.

Anatoly Sagalevich
outstanding Soviet and Russian scientist, explorer of the World Ocean using manned deep-sea submersibles, Hero of Russia, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor, and Head of the Laboratory for Scientific Operation of Manned Deep-Sea Vehicles at the P. P. Shirshov Institute of Oceanology of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
