The Krasnoyarsk Region is the second largest federal subject of the Russian Federation and one of the richest regions in the country. It has about 10,000 mineral deposits producing coal, oil, iron ore, and non-ferrous metals. The region also holds 10% of Russia’s timber reserves, with forests covering over 70% of its territory.
