80th Anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War

On May 8, the Russian House in Brussels invites you to the poetic program by actor Ivan Kokorin, “Wait for Me and I Will Return…”, dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War.

This commemorative evening will take the form of a solo performance featuring moving lines from works by renowned Russian poets and writers such as Konstantin Simonov, Gennady Shpalikov, Vasily Shukshin, Alexander Tvardovsky, Nikolai Mayorov, and others. The audience will hear works including “Wait for Me and I Will Return…”, “Do You Remember, Alyosha, the Roads of Smolensk”, an excerpt from the chapter “The Accordion” from Vasily Tyorkin, as well as poignant poems about war, friendship, faith, and love.

The performer is Ivan Kokorin, a Russian stage and film actor, and reader at the Moscow State Philharmonic. He has appeared in over 70 films, including “The 9th Company”, “The Star”, “Chic”, and “The Last Armored Train”. He is also a poet, curator of the acting course at Alexander Mitta’s film school, and a nominee for the Golden Mask Award for his role as Vandal in the play Exile at the Mayakovsky Theatre.
