On the eve of the 80th anniversary of the end of the Second World War, we are gathered around a round table to talk about important and dear pages of our common history – about the struggle that the Belgians, the Dutch and the Luxembourgers, together with the peoples of Russia and other republics of the Soviet Union, waged in solidarity against the brown plague of the twentieth century.

In spite of thousands of researches on this terrible war and the many decades that separate us from it, new names and new information about long, seemingly forgotten events continue to emerge. Because the memory of generations is alive, and family archives and forgotten graves continue to reveal their secrets.

Together with experts and historians the round table will be attended by local historians and enthusiastic researchers, as well as descendants of those who 80 years ago brought the long-awaited peace closer.

We invite you to join the discussion and look forward to hearing about the heroes in your family and their contribution to the common victory.
