On September 16, the Russian House in Brussels will host the solemn ceremony of awarding the Medal “For Love and Fidelity.” This annual event is held as part of the celebration of the Day of Family, Love, and Fidelity, which is traditionally observed in Russia on July 8.

The holiday is dedicated to the memory of the Murom saints, Prince Peter and Princess Fevronia, patrons of marriage and family happiness. Their union, filled with mutual care, devotion, and true love, became a model of marital fidelity and spiritual unity, and inspired the creation of this bright celebration. The symbol of the Day of Family, Love, and Fidelity is the chamomile — a simple yet profound flower, embodying purity, sincerity, and loyalty. It also adorns the medal presented to the honored couples.
This year, the award will be presented to a family couple who have lived together for more than half a century, preserving love and mutual respect, raising children as worthy individuals, while continuing to cherish and transmit Russian traditions, love for the language, and cultural heritage. Their story is one of true devotion: carrying warmth, resilience, and mutual support through the decades, proving to others that genuine family happiness is possible and attainable.
After the ceremony, a festive concert “Tchaikovsky: Reflection in Sound” will take place, dedicated to honoring the awarded families and to the opening of the new season at the Russian House in Brussels.
