Film screenings dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory were successfully held at the Russian House in Brussels. Viewers were presented with the series “About People and About War” by Artel Films studio, based on true stories of participants and eyewitnesses of the events of 1941–1945. During three screenings from April to May 2025, guests watched 13 short films, each revealing human fates broken, changed, or uplifted by war.

Each episode is a separate story about love, selflessness, youth, creativity, pain, and resilience. The protagonists are ordinary people whose lives were interrupted or forever changed by war, yet who managed to preserve their human dignity. Despite their concise format, the stories immerse viewers in an emotionally rich atmosphere of the past, reviving the memory of a generation that not only endured but retained its humanity.

The series, which has received over 70 awards worldwide—including in Berlin, London, Los Angeles, and Cannes—elicited heartfelt responses and deep gratitude from audiences in Brussels. Each screening was followed by discussions and open dialogue, allowing participants to reflect more deeply on the role of human stories in preserving historical memory. The Russian House Film Club continues its mission: to remind us that it is people who make History.
