On October 28, the Russian House in Brussels hosted a musical and poetic program by the renowned Russian theatre, film and television actor, poet, and reader of the Moscow Philharmonic Ivan Kokorin. The evening, titled “A Person Needs a Person,” became a profound reflection on the nature of human emotions and the power of mutual understanding.

At the heart of the program was the theme of human relationships — their fragility and value. Ivan Kokorin reminded the audience of the importance of cherishing closeness and keeping warmth alive so that “the flame of relationships never fades.”

The evening featured works by Alexander Pushkin, Michelangelo di Lodovico Buonarroti Simoni, David Samoylov, Sergei Yesenin, Gennady Shpalikov, Valentin Gaft, Vladimir Vysotsky, Elena Boykova, original poetry by Ivan Kokorin, as well as prose by Vasily Shukshin.

The blend of poetry, music, and sincere artistic performance created a special atmosphere of trust and heartfelt warmth. The audience noted the emotional depth and the soulful interpretation of the performer.

Ivan Kokorin has played more than 70 roles in film, including “The 9th Company,” “The Star,” “Chic,” “The Last Armored Train” and others. In 2018, he was nominated for the Golden Mask award for his role as Vandal in “Exile” at the Mayakovsky Theatre and currently serves as curator of an acting course at A. Mitta’s Film School.

The musical and poetic evening became a significant cultural event for the Russian-speaking audience in Belgium, bringing inspiration, gentle nostalgia, and a heartfelt reminder of what truly matters: a person indeed needs a person.
