Dear friends, a theatrical celebration took place in our Russian House, brought to us by the theater studio of our Russian House and the Sadko Theater Studio.

It all started with Chekhov. The children performed the play Who Is to Blame?, based on the short story by Anton Pavlovich Chekhov.
The play was introduced with drawings by one of the young actresses – Maria Vergauwen. With these illustrations, Maria won first place in the Young Artists Competition in France this May. But we’ve already written about that, so we won’t repeat ourselves.
The performance itself took second place at the same festival. Masha, Platon, and Vitalina skillfully conveyed Chekhov’s unique tone.

Blue Blood (Polina Bychkova)
The next production featured the youngest actors: brother and sister Kostik and Katya. It was their debut. A brave little mouse saves others from a cunning and arrogant cat, played brilliantly by the more experienced actor Platon.
Despite their young age and being newcomers, the actors performed flawlessly. They seemed completely calm.

The Evil, the Good, and the Nasty (Olga Zverlina)
Like the previous one, this play involved actors from the Russian House Theater Studio. The older group: Maria (already familiar from Who Is to Blame?), Ayla, and Platon, who also played in the two previous plays. Again, Platon portrayed the “nasty” character.
They say anyone can play a good guy, but playing a villain takes skill. Maria and Platon absolutely succeeded. Ayla played a kind and defenseless character—her performance made you want to hug and comfort her.
Bravo!

Musical The Buzzing Fly (K. Chukovsky)
Here the stage turned into a real celebration: music, songs, poems, suspense, kidnapping, and the heroic rescue of the Fly.
This musical came to us from Ghent. As is fitting for a birthday party, there were many guests. The joy from the stage spread into the audience. When the terrible spider attacked the Fly, a little boy in the back row clung to his dad and asked, “Will the mosquito beat the spider?” Of course, the spider was defeated!
