On January 31, the Russian House in Brussels hosted the audio performance “Real / Virtual: The Coronavirus as an Accelerator?”, prepared by writer and filmmaker Dominique Copp, who presented her unique sound project.

This soundscape was conceived during the 2020 lockdown and was inspired by the ideas of Jean Baudrillard and Paul Virilio, who foresaw, long before the pandemic, a world transforming under the influence of technology and crises.

Organized by the L’association sans but lucratif Anaphore Production, the event immersed listeners in a reflection on surrounding reality through the lens of sound and philosophy. Dominique Copp, known for her geopoetic research and works dedicated to polar regions and geopolitics, this time focused on the crisis and its impact on the perception of the world.

In her work, the author explores the transformation of the environment and human perception during the pandemic. Initially, a cacophony of alarming news and uncertainty, then silence, creating space for new reflections. Although the “Bunker Paradise” project was not originally planned, Copp’s reflections on the contemporary world ultimately led to its creation.

This soundscape is the result of deep contemplation on crisis realities and a new form of interaction with the world. Visitors to the event had a unique opportunity to experience this sound experiment and reflect on its philosophical dimensions.
