The Russian House announces the launch of registration for the anniversary International Olympiad “Open Doors: Russian Scholarship Project”, organized by the “Global Universities” Association. The project offers foreign citizens and compatriots living abroad the opportunity to pursue tuition-free education and research careers at leading Russian universities.
Over its 10-year history, the Olympiad has brought together more than 618,000 participants from over 200 countries, with more than 16,700 emerging as winners.
Participation is completely free and held entirely online in Russian or English. The competition covers 14 interdisciplinary subject areas (including AI, Physics, Chemistry, Economics, Medicine, and Linguistics) across four academic tracks:
- Bachelor’s & Master’s tracks: Winners receive full-tuition scholarships funded by the Government of the Russian Federation;
- Doctoral track: Winners can pursue PhD-level academic research training;
- Postdoctoral track: Winners get the opportunity to join cutting-edge research projects at Russian universities.
Key Dates for Open Doors 2026
- August 20 – November 1, 2026: Registration period.
- August 20 – November 13, 2026: Stage 1 (portfolio submission, entry testing, and motivation letter).
- November 13 – December 21, 2026: Stage 2.
- December 22, 2026 – February 26, 2027: Stage 3 (online interviews for Doctoral and Postdoctoral tracks).
