On May 10th, at the cemetery in Genk, Limburg Province, Belgium, Russian compatriots organized a memorial event dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. The ceremony included the laying of flowers at the graves of Soviet soldiers who died during World War II and the “Immortal Regiment” march. The event was supported by the Russian House in Brussels.

The ceremony was attended by the Director of the Russian House, V.G. Bunina, diplomats from the Russian Embassy in Belgium, as well as members of the Russian community and local residents of Genk. During the ceremony, participants honored the fallen with a moment of silence and shared stories of Soviet heroes whose names are commemorated on the memorial.

The “Immortal Regiment” march featured portraits of World War II heroes, as well as banners and flags reflecting respect for the achievements of Soviet soldiers and the victory they achieved. The participants of the event emphasized the importance of preserving historical memory and ensuring the continuity of generations.
