The Gnessin Russian Academy of Music held a videoconference to inform applicants from Belgium and other European countries about the study programs and the rules for admission to study.
Since its foundation in 1895, the Gnessin Academy of Music has implemented a unique educational approach created by the Gnessin family, which has grown into a well-known set of traditions. The Academy draws heavily on these traditions while at the same time striving to be at the forefront of modern trends in education.
The Gnesin Russian Academy of Music is the unique and dynamic organization that brings together all three levels of the Russian educational system – primary school, secondary professional education, undergraduate and postgraduate programs.
It is the largest music university in Europe and Central Asia. Currently, 3,200 students study at the Gnessin Russian Academy of Music, 26% of whom are students from 50 foreign countries.
The Academy offers nearly 100 programs involving practically all fields of music and performing arts: for instrumental performers, conductors, classical and folk singers, composers, sound engineers, producers, musicologists and other specialists, as well as doctorate programs.
In 2024, the Gnessin Russian Academy of Music was ranked 7th among universities providing music education and 10th among the best universities training performing artists (music, ballet and theatre) in the QS rankings.
To preserve and enhance the traditions of Russian system of music education, aimed at development of cultural elite of society in accordance with modern domestic and international requirements to the quality of education – the main goal of the Gnesin Academy.
