The Russian House in Brussels hosted a screening of the family comedy «Aul Challenge», directed by Islam Satyrov and produced by the Dombayfilm studio in the Karachay-Cherkess Republic. The film, which has received several Russian and international awards, attracted both adult audiences and young viewers thanks to its sincerity, warm humor, and relevant themes.

The story follows Timur, a city teenager who, after an argument with his father, is sent to spend a month in an aul with his grandfather. Finding himself in an unfamiliar environment, the young hero goes through numerous challenges, discovers the traditions of his people, and learns respect for elders, friendship, responsibility, and the importance of family values. Despite its light comedic tone, the film addresses important issues such as intergenerational relationships and the search for one’s place in the modern world.

The audience showed particular interest in the fact that the film was shot entirely in Karachay-Cherkessia and that most of the roles were played by local residents. The picturesque landscapes of the North Caucasus, the national flavor, and the authentic portrayal of rural life allowed viewers to gain a deeper understanding of the culture and traditions of one of Russia’s regions. After the screening, guests shared positive impressions, highlighting the film’s warm atmosphere, the natural performances of the actors, and the universal nature of its themes.
