Morning of 10 May. The largest burial site of Soviet prisoners of war in Belgium. In the Belgian city of Genk, the “Garden of Remembrance” action took place.
Indifferent compatriots, employees of the Russian House in Brussels and representatives of public organisations gathered to honour the memory of the fallen and plant young lilac bushes on the territory of the burial ground.
The Garden of Memory campaign aims to create living memorials in honour of those who died during the Great Patriotic War. As part of this initiative, participants plant lilac bushes to symbolise eternal memory and respect for heroes. This project unites people of different generations in an endeavour to preserve historical memory for future generations.
The memory of them will live forever.
