On December 9, the Russian House in Brussels hosted a vibrant and truly unique musical event — a concert held as part of the Russian Piano Classics Festival. The stage welcomed acclaimed masters, Honored Artists of Russia Yuri Bogdanov and Oleg Vaynshtein — musicians whose names have long been synonymous with impeccable technique, profound artistic taste, and consistently high-performance standards.

The concert program featured selected works by Pyotr Tchaikovsky, Anton Arensky, Alexander Scriabin, Sergei Rachmaninoff, as well as virtuoso arrangements of pieces by other Russian composers. From the very first chords, the hall seemed to plunge into a special space of music — a space of absolute silence and focused attention. The audience listened in complete concentration, and each new performance preserved this mesmerizing quiet filled with anticipation and admiration.

Yuri Bogdanov, Honored Artist of Russia, professor at the Gnessin Russian Academy of Music, and laureate of international competitions, demonstrated flawless technique and the most delicate command of expressive means. His interpretations, long considered exemplary in performing Bach, Schubert, and Scriabin, once again confirmed his mastery as a pianist-artist.

Oleg Vaynshtein, a renowned St. Petersburg pianist, associate professor at the Saint Petersburg State Conservatory, and laureate of international competitions, amazed the audience with the power of his sound, his filigree technique, and the deep emotional richness of every phrase.

After each piece, the hall erupted in stormy and prolonged applause. The ovations did not cease, and many listeners rose from their seats, expressing admiration and gratitude to the artists for an unforgettable evening.

The concert became a true gift for all lovers of classical music and once again highlighted the richness of the Russian piano school, its living tradition, and its enduring impact on audiences.

Before the concert, Vera Bunina, Director of the Russian House in Brussels, presented the exhibition “Maya Plisetskaya. The Arena of Life” from the Bakhrushin Theatre Museum, created to mark the 100th anniversary of the great ballerina. The exhibition, imbued with the breath of the stage and the defining moments of her brilliant career, lent the evening a special atmosphere of high art and connection to the history of Russian ballet.

On December 10, Yuri Bogdanov and Oleg Vaynshtein, serving as jury members of the 2nd International Russian Music Piano Competition, held a preliminary audition for young pianists who had applied for the qualifying round. After the audition, the masters shared their experience and professional secrets in an inspiring masterclass, which became an important stage in the artistic development of the aspiring musicians.
