On March 18, a scientific and methodological webinar dedicated to preparing international students for the Test of Russian as a Foreign Language (TORFL) took place on the online platform of the Russian House in Brussels. The event was organized in cooperation with the Zlatoust publishing house.
The webinar brought together teachers of Russian as a foreign language, methodologists, and education professionals interested in improving the effectiveness of exam preparation. Participants explored modern teaching approaches, reviewed up-to-date learning materials, and received practical recommendations for preparing students at different TORFL levels.
The speakers included leading experts in the field. Irina Savelyeva, co-author of TORFL preparation textbooks, PhD candidate at Ca’ Foscari University of Venice, and RFL instructor in Italy, presented a set of materials for the written subtest and shared effective methodological strategies.
Anna Lyubivaya, Head of Russian language courses at the Zlatoust Center and an experienced RFL teacher, introduced modern textbooks and resources and discussed strategies for preparing students for advanced-level exams.
Rakhil Belyaeva, RFL teacher, linguistics specialist, and certified TORFL tester at Saint Petersburg State University, participated as a guest expert and highlighted key aspects of exam administration and assessment, including common mistakes and evaluation criteria.
The webinar provided a valuable platform for professional exchange and offered practical tools that participants can apply in their teaching.
