On 07 December at 18:00 the Russian House in Brussels invites you to take part in the lecture “Moscow of the Art Nouveau”.

Lecturer: Anna Kistanova, Director and Chief Curator of the Melnikov Museum, A.V.Shchusev State Research Museum of Architecture (Moscow).

The turn of the XIX-XX centuries is a bright period in the architectural history of the city, the monuments of which decorate the streets of the capital to this day. However, Art Nouveau is not only an ornate facade with sculptural decoration. It is a new approach to the organisation of space, new construction technologies, engineering solutions, which opened to architects huge opportunities for the implementation of their ideas. The lecture is devoted to the concept of style, the history of its emergence and stages of formation in Moscow.
