On December 13 at 17:00, the final virtual tour of the Russian Museum this year will take place on the virtual platform of the Russian House in Brussels, which will introduce the collection of Russian art of the 20th century, presented on the permanent exhibition of the museum. The excursion will be led by Valentina Gorlova, head of the department of excursion and lecture work of the Russian Museum.

The 20th century art in Russia is closely related with the history of the new government, which was formed on the place of the Russian empire as a result of the October Revolution of 1917. These events reflected in life and art of Russian artists and influenced on the appearance of new themes and trends in fine arts. The viewers will see the rooms devoted to the art of Kuzma Petrov-Vodkin and Pavel Filonov, Alexander Samokhvalov and Alexander Deineka, Arkady Plastov and Helium Korzhev as well as works of the artists of “The Severe Style” that is recognised to be a breakthrough in the history of the Soviet art.

Online tour completes a series of the meetings organised by the Russian Museum in collaboration with the Russian House in Brussels. The virtual tours enabled the foreign audience to explore the history, collection and expositions of the Russian Museum. The meeting will be supplied by the simultaneous translation from Russian into French.
