Museum Day

The exhibition, dedicated to the celebration of the 350th anniversary of the birth of Peter the Great, took place at the Russian Museum in June-September 2022. It consisted of works of painting, graphics, sculpture, crafts and numismatics, the plot of which is the activity and personality of Peter I. The exhibition includes 150 works from the 18th – early 20th century from the collection of the Russian Museum, other state museums and private collections.

Lada Vikhoreva, Senior Research Fellow, responsible curator of the 18th – first half of the 19th century painting department of the State Russian Museum, spoke about the exhibition. The public could be in the halls of the exposition and see how the image of Peter and the events associated with his biography were embodied in the domestic fine arts for two centuries.
The virtual tour took the form of a video conference between the Russian Museum, the Russian House in Brussels and the Russian House in Beirut. The participants of the virtual tour were residents of Russia, Europe, Asia, South America.
