Exhibition “Heroes of A.S. Pushkin’s Works in the Graphics of Artist Nikolai Predein”
To the 225th anniversary of A.S. Pushkin and the 220th anniversary of M.I. Glinka
From the collections of the Pushkin Reserve and the collection of N.P. Predein
Nikolai Predein — sculptor, graphic artist, poet — was born in the Trans-Urals. In 1986, he graduated from the Sverdlovsk Evening Art School. Since 1997, N.P. Predein has been a member of the Union of Artists of Russia. The artist is actively involved in exhibitions. His works are in public and private collections in Russia and abroad, including the State Museum-Reserve of A.S. Pushkin “Mikhailovskoye.”
The exhibition’s display consists of expressive black-and-white illustrations for the works of the great classic, created in 2015-2016. According to the author, “the images appeared on the paper quite spontaneously, as if I called out to them—they responded, emerging on the white paper with lines, strokes, washes, blots…”.
The exhibition immerses visitors in the world of Pushkin’s words, introduces them to the images of literary heroes, and encourages them to open and read books that have forever become part of the collections of libraries in almost every country in the world.
