To the Day of Slavic Literature and Culture

During a tour of the exhibition at the Slovo Museum, visitors will learn about the main milestones in the history of writing in Russia. Visitors will learn about the first alphabets: Cyrillic and Glagolitic, and get acquainted with the oldest literary works that have survived to the present day.

During the excursion you will see the first handwritten books, wax tablets, and birch-bark manuscripts, and you will also learn how monks worked by hand to produce manuscripts.

You will be able to look into the printing house, look at books from the time of Peter the Great, and see a school classroom from the 19th century, all accompanied by a fascinating story from our guide.
