On May 9, our country celebrated the Great Holiday, Victory Day over Nazi Germany.

On May 10, 2023, a gala evening “Living Memory of Past Years” was held at the Russian House in Brussels, dedicated to the Day of Victory in World War II in Europe.

We dedicated this Literary and Musical Evening to the memory of Soviet people who fell on the battlefields, were burned in the crematoria of concentration camps, tortured to death in the dungeons of the Gestapo, died under bombing, and those who lived to see the holy holiday – Victory Day.

Opera and pop singer Elena Fedorova (soprano) and artist of the Opera La Monnaie in Brussels Rene Larya (bass-baritone) performed well-known songs of the war years, which in the most difficult and dark times helped and supported soldiers on the battlefield, gave hope to wives, mothers and children working in the rear.

The young laureates of the Belgian national stage of the Living Classics International Reading Competition read their favorite works by Russian writers dedicated to war children and great-grandfathers.

The audience did not hold back their emotions, with tears in their eyes they quietly sang along to the beat and applauded each performance.

The festive concert caused a storm of emotions and left a deep impression in the hearts of everyone present.
