From April 26 to 28, 2024, the international historical event “Victory Dictation” dedicated to the events of the Great Patriotic War took place.

Brief historical note.

The Victory Dictation was first held on May 7, 2019, and was dedicated to the 74th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. The event took place in 24 countries, including Russia. The number of participants exceeded 150,000 people. Subsequently, it was decided to hold the Victory Dictation annually.

Participants were offered 25 rather challenging questions. Some questions related to the depiction of events from 1941-1945 in literature and cinema.

In Belgium, the Dictation took place at three venues, two of which were in Brussels – at the school and at the Russian House, as well as in Ghent at the SmartStart school.

The total number of participants was about 50. The best results were shown by representatives from Ghent. The winner was Ekaterina Bakina, who scored 24 points. The second place was shared by the Parakhonski couple: Ekaterina and Bogdan. They each scored 22 points. The third place went to a participant from Brussels. Larisa Makarevich was only one point behind the second place.

The awarding took place before the retrospective screening of Karen Shakhnazarov’s film “White Tiger”.

Among schoolchildren, the places were distributed as follows: Zakhar Morozov (18 points), Taisiya Petukhova (16 points), Sofia Vishyakova, and Roman Poddubsky, who scored 14 points each.

After the awarding of certificates to the participants and prizes to the winners, the schoolchildren participated in tree planting.
